Kids’ designs for a royal seal created at a Magna Carta-themed Cathedral Fun Day were so creative we just had to share them!
Our Magna Carta Family Fun day – held back on Saturday 25 July 2015 – was a runaway success, with more than 400 visitors crossing the threshold of Guildford Cathedral that day.
A wide variety of activities was on offer, including crafting, special trails and stories for local youngsters – totally free of charge.
The event was funded as part of the People’s Cathedral Project, an ambitious 30 month initiative, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, combining urgent building repairs with an exciting community engagement programme to capture and reveal the rich heritage and history behind this stunning 20th century building.
One activity at the fun day challenged kids to use the colours and designs of the Barons’ coats of arms to come up with their own emblem or seal.
We loved all the contributions children made – and felt we could not let the occasion pass without showing off some of the best seal designs of the day.
